The other day I was going somewhere Ran into you and was going nowhere The smile upon your face, told me My work here, wasn’t done You think you got it, think you’re something to watch So ready, take you down a notch Someone will come along And change your mind The score’s one to nothing and I can taste it Sweet victory You didn’t see it coming but you can hear me humming The song of your defeat Oh you’ve got the spark that leaves more of a mark I’ve got the fire, that stays burning for a while, and You’ve got the mind that’ll keep yourself confined But I’m the only one, with something to prove I’ve got something to prove Well you couldn’t have picked a better time To try and bring this up in my mind But then again, who’s counting? Oh you think you’re the judge of cool Of everything but you’re being a fool Let’s face it, you’re not winning today The score’s one to nothing and I can taste it Sweet victory You didn’t see it coming but you can hear me humming The song of your defeat Oh you’ve got the spark that leaves more of a mark I’ve got the fire, that stays burning for a while, and You’ve got the mind that’ll keep yourself confined But I’m the only one, with something to prove I’ve got something to prove Don’t be underestimating, you will soon be educated This time you know I’m believin’, you will walk out of here bleedin’ The room’s electrified, you’re about to be denied I am not the one who’s crying, you will soon be testifyin’ Make changes to your battle plan, I’m not the girl you think I am At the end of the day, I’m a dark horse ready to bring you down The score’s one to nothing and I can taste it Sweet victory Oh you’ve got the spark that leaves more of a mark I’ve got the fire, that stays burning, burning, burning for a while, and Oh you’ve got the spark that leaves more of a mark I’ve got the fire, that stays burning for a while now, for a while now Ooo, oo, oo I’m a, dark horse, ready to bring you down I’m the only one who’s got that something to prove

The River 03:44
You said you’d meet me by the river Just yesterday I heard you say it Now I’m sittin’ here just waitin’ Leaving a message at the tone Yes I tried to dial your number In fact I tried it several times Then I started wonderin’ where you could be Oh, I bet you’re at that party with Luanne Now I won’t ever, trust a blue-eyed man I won’t ever, wait for someone with other plans I know now, that someday you will pay You broke a promise You said you’d meet me by the river Now I know just where to find you You’ll be so sorry once I do And poor Luanne will have to see you Get beat up with a rolling pan And once I’m through with you I will go home just satisfied People will hear me walkin’ down the street Whistlin’ a fine tune and stompin’ my feet Now I won’t ever, trust a blue-eyed man I won’t ever, wait for someone with other plans I know now, that someday you will pay You broke a promise You said you’d meet me by the river Now I won’t ever, trust a blue-eyed man I won’t ever, wait for someone with other plans I know now that, someday you will pay You broke a promise Oh you said you’d meet me by The riv-er Here I am waiting, And you will never come Cause you broke, broke a promise, yes you did Ohhh, right here by the river I didn’t see you no-oo-noohh By the River

I’m leaving this place I don’t know when I’m coming back I packed my dishes, packed my clothes Packed my sorrows and my hopes Cause I’m leaving this place Down South, is where my heart is pulling me I know it’s not the best time, but sure something that I need Please don’t think of me but don’t forget where I’m going And you’ll, remember me every time you hear the midnight train Oh I love the smell of my car It reminds me of my daddy’s slide guitar Of all the places that I’ve been, how far I’ve come since I began I love travelin’ Been here before, but it’s different this time Still got the wild soul, and the heart that won’t sit still I can’t wait for an adventure once again You’ll remember me, every time you hear the midnight train Maybe it’s the Earth’s rotation Maybe it’s the ocean tides Maybe it’s the heartstrings in our hearts I know about something greater A power that we cannot see I know God is holding us in His hands So look up at the stars Although we may be apart I’m leaving this place I don’t know when I’m coming back I’m leaving, leaving this place- No I don’t know, I don’t know When I’m coming back But you’ll remember me, you’ll remember me Oh, every time you hear the midnight train I’m leaving this place I don’t know, when I’m coming back

Better Side 04:30
Her world came tumbling’ down that year, and she was left to pick up the pieces Could’ve just left it be, say there is nothing for me that I can see But she said that it’s my choice Said start from the bottom and build up to the sky Even if it takes my whole life I’m gonna try Try Don’t ever let one day, pass you by If you only try You can see the better side Don’t ever let one moment, slip right on through Because you know that you own it When you see the better side Woah . . . What we do with the life we’re given Shows who we are, and how we face our mountains What you’ve been searching’ for, nothing neft in store, can’t do this anymore Look at the strength you’ve got inside And if you think for just a second that it’s not worth it Take a look outside, and say hello to that rainbow Hello Don’t ever let one day, pass you by If you only try You can see the better side Don’t ever let one moment, slip right on through Because you know that you own it When you see the better side Woah . . . You're rising up, up After the burn You’re rising up, up After the storm You’re rising up, up You gotta commit, so make it worth it You’re worth it Don’t ever let one day, pass you by Pass you by If you only try Don’t ever let one moment, slip right on through you know that you own it You own this The better side The better side This is your life, This is your time, and you can do this Oooo . . . Woah . . . Your better side

Day after day I watch my life be replayed It’s true, time goes by And carries on leaving you behind Watching the ones walk on Walk on into the flames When there’s a road calling you Would you take it? All my life I’ve owned up to my mistake Oh, I’ve never Held up something against anyone Oh, but the one true thing I’m now admitting to everyone Is the fear of living, with what I could have done Ooh, Ahh, Ehh, Ohh I’ve always wanted to Do something crazy instead, like Climbing the highest mountain In the world Or travel ‘cross the ocean With the stars as my guide Feel the rays of the sun From a million miles in space All my life I’ve owned up to my mistake Oh, I’ve never Held up something against anyone Oh, but the one true thing I’m now admitting to everyone Is the fear of living, with what I could have done Ooh, Ahh, Ehh, Ohh Yeah Watching all the water pool around your feet It is like just waiting, for your own defeat Saying not this time because you Think you’ll get another chance Well maybe you, won’t Maybe you won’t Oh save me, from what I could have done Ooh, Ahh, Ehh, Ohh What I could have done

Aim To Be 04:28
She’s just a girl all alone in this world Clawing her way to the top And this cold weather ain’t helping her now, The ice just makes it dangerous She’s trying to find herself before, someone else Comes and does it for her Oh you may, be strong enough, but did you ever think of When they’ll come knocking at your door Would you stand there and say, This is who I am today? It’s like, you’ve been seeing in color for the first time And now that you can finally see, Would you please just tell me, Is this who you’ve, aimed to be? The autumn leaves are changing, and so is her mind For only a second in time The sun’s going down, and she is left Sitting alone in the dark She’s as fragile as glass dropped, from the highest shelf But now she’s on her way Oh you may, be strong enough, but did you ever think of When they’ll come knocking at your door Would you stand there and say, This is who I am today? It’s like, you’ve been seeing in color for the first time And now that you can finally see, Would you please just tell me, Is this who you’ve, aimed to be? She’s got seeds in her hands It’s her choice to plant them I guess we’ll find out, oh we’ll find out By the end of the summer What will she have to show? By the end of the summer What will she have to show? What will she have to show? It’s like, you’ve been seeing in color for the first time And now that you can finally see, Would you please just tell me, Is this who you’ve, aimed to be? Oohh, oohh Who will you be? Would you say this is who I am, who I am, Looking back on all of your days? Will you be proud? Of who you’ve, aimed to be

Counting the days the hours, the minutes and the seconds They say that waiting’s the hardest part I’ve been on this road for many, many miles Almost there we’re almost there Only brought just two things with me Myself and this old guitar And I’m halfway to the summer nights Halfway to the sunlight Halfway to the fireflies in empty bottles Don’t wanna leave but now you got to I’m halfway to the blue skies Halfway to the old times Halfway to where ever this road will take me I’m halfway to you Can’t wait to sit around the campfire Making up songs ‘bout anything Can’t wait for the nights that last forever Running barefoot everywhere Oh just hold on, to all these memories Before you know it they’ll be gone And I’m halfway to the summer nights Halfway to the sunlight Halfway to the fireflies in empty bottles Don’t wanna leave but now you got to I’m halfway to the blue skies Halfway to the old times Halfway to where ever this road will take me I’m halfway to you We’ve been driving all night Seen the last of the daylight We’ll get in around midnight And their still up, waiting Halfway to the place where we Gathered ‘round as one family You belong you’re in your place A feeling that can’t be replaced I’m halfway to you, woah Don’t wanna leave, don’t wanna leave But now you’ve got to Woah, where this road will take me I’m halfway to you Been on this road for, many many miles

He comes home from work that day Takes off his coat, and his plastered smile He sighs through the lies and the maybe next times He’s tired of being someone else It’s impossible to be, anything other than yourself You can fake a smile, but it would only be someone else You can play the part, but you can’t fool your heart She steps on the bus that day She smiles and says that she’s doing okay But she pretends not to notice the whispers and glances She’s tired of being someone else It’s impossible to be, anything other than yourself You can fake a smile, but it would only be someone else You can play the part, but you can’t fool your heart Oh you’re, trying too hard To change what you see You are only saying, part of the story And you reach out to turn the lights on Will you finally see, clearly now? It’s impossible to be, anything other than yourself You can play the part But you can’t fool, no you can’t fool, can’t fool Your heart No, no You can’t fool your heart Oh it’s impossible, it’s impossible To fool, your heart Your heart

All You Are 03:39
Looking for a sign Or a message in the wind Don’t cross the lines Don’t let the darkness in You don’t know why You even came here No looking back, no looking back Cuz’ this is where you are You made it here to let them see Who you are You’ll never give up and you’ll be free If you could only let the light shine through Let them see the real you All you are Is only what you see You’ve worked too hard To let it all slip away You’ve played your part Now let the world see what you can do You know your heart Is leading the way No looking back, no looking back Cuz’ this is where you are You made it here to let them see Who you are You’ll never give up and you’ll be free If you could only let the light shine through Let them see the real you All you are Is only what you see When the night falls, and you can’t even sleep When the people call, and you can’t even speak When your dreams stand tall You were already walking the other way Just turn around Cuz’ this is where you are You made it here to let them see Who you are You’ll never give up and you’ll be free If you could only let the light shine through Let them see the real you All you are Is only what you see You made it here to let them see Who you are You’ll never give up and you’ll be free If you could only let the light shine through Let them see the real you All you are Is only what you see

One Day 03:25
I never knew how small the world was But one day I heard somebody say There are more stars in the sky, then sand on earth And I don’t know my place At the end of the day I’ll be waiting for the sun to go down once again For the dark and the moon And the billions of stars will be calling out to you And they will sing just hold on Oohh, Oohh, Oohh They’ll be singing my song One day your time will come Just remember how you got here The ones who helped you along the way Without them we’d be left out in the dark To stumble upon our feet At the end of the day I’ll be waiting for the sun to go down once again For the dark and the moon And the billions of stars will be calling out to you And they will sing just hold on Oohh, Oohh, Oohh They’ll be singing my song One day your time will come On day your time will come, it will come And they’ll tell you, they’ll tell you, oohh Yeah they’ll tell you, oh they’ll tell you, oohh Listen to them when they tell you And they’ll tell you At the end of the day I’ll be waiting for the sun to go down once again For the dark and the moon And the billions of stars will be calling out to you And they will sing just hold on Oohh, Oohh, Oohh They’ll be singing my song One day your time will come One day your time will come One day your time will come

about

Taylor Shae is a 17 year old singer-songwriter, born and raised in a town overlooking the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Taylor writes and performs soulful americana/roots-rock music that leaves listeners energized with her crackerjack lyrics and soul-crying vocals. Following the release of her debut album, “Something To Prove” in late 2016, Taylor now performs with her trio, blending sounds of acoustic guitar, untamed bass, and snappy cajon. From festivals to intimate venues, the Taylor Shae Band has created a fun acoustic jam feel, grabbing the attention of any passerby willing to give in to the urge to tap their feet.

With the success of her album, Taylor was selected to perform at summer festivals including the the People’s Fair in Denver, Rhythm on The River in Longmont, Boulder Creek Festival, and Oahe Days in Pierre, SD. Taylor won a singer-songwriter competition in 2017 as a part of the Teen Creek Festival in Boulder, Colorado and had a live on-air performance and interview with KGNU Radio.

Taylor Shae’s musical journey began in a town with a vibrant music scene, where she was a lead vocalist for several jazz bands and a rock band. She landed her first gig at the age of 13, at a local art gallery, and was stunned by the thrill of performing and the incredible support from her fellow hometown musicians and fans. After success in local singing competitions, Taylor fused her passions of writing and music and began daily songwriting sessions in the spare bedroom of her home. Taylor had no idea what would come of her creative nonsense, until she began to produce original recordings and reach a broader audience. With the ability to observe the human spirit, Taylor finds herself writing through the eyes of others, which is illuminated in the relatability of her lyrics.

Taylor strongly believes that everyone deserves a chance to be heard, and this is evident in her empowering message about being true to yourself. Her debut album has positive underlying currents with powerful vocals, signature harmonies and electrifying bass guitar. Through her current age of 17, Taylor never passes up opportunities to share her music and take chances, which is evident in her debut album, “Something To Prove”.
