Resolution 03:27
I finally made my resolution Gonna find me a place out on the road I finally came to a conclusion Gonna take the good and leave the load I’m ready to go I’ve counted all my fingers and toes I tell you, I’m ready to leave With the moon at my back Gonna take the best parts of me I finally made my resolution There’s a shining light out there for me to hold I finally came to a solution It starts with me and ends with the road I’m ready to go I’ve counted all my fingers and toes I tell you, I’m ready to leave With the moon at my back Gonna take the best parts of me Sharp tongues Restless ones Long runs Oh singing I’m done If you don’t know What I’m talkin’ about There’s no doubt Singing I’m out Sharp tongues Restless ones Long runs Oh singing I’m done If you don’t know What I’m talkin’ about There’s no doubt Singing I’m out I’m ready to go I’ve counted all my fingers and toes I tell you, I’m ready to leave With the moon at my back Gonna take the best parts of me With the moon at my back Gonna take the best parts of me

Storymaker 03:20
Holding my tongue Until we can say we’re done Biding our time Tracing our arrows For who’s sake? I don’t know It sure ain’t my own Oh I promised you We’d make it through But we’ve got cards to different games You believed in me You and me and the sun made three But these runarounds are quite a shame There’s no telling what I would do To change the story, change the tune But I ain’t no storymaker I’m a teller, and that’s the truth No I ain’t no storymaker I’m a teller, and that’s the truth Follow your star And I will follow mine Just don’t stray too far I’ll never forget The sound of a closing door Never heard that sound before Oh I promised you We’d make it through But we’ve got cards to different games You believed in me You and me and the sun made three But these runarounds are quite a shame There’s no telling what I would do To change the story, change the tune But I ain’t no storymaker I’m a teller and that’s the truth No I ain’t no storymaker I’m a teller and that’s the truth Who Writes your story better than You Can say the words and know where all the Truth Lies within in what have we come to Oh I promised you We’d make it through But we’ve got cards to different games You believed in me You and me and the sun made three But these runarounds are quite a shame There’s no telling what I would do To change the story, change the tune But I ain’t no storymaker Ain’t no storymaker Ain’t no storymaker No I ain’t no storymaker I’m a teller and that’s the truth

Street sweeper Don’t bother coming yonder down the road Legend keeper The books got something they can no longer hold Wise teacher There’s no one in these parts to take it in Kind people Some things can’t be fixed with a smile How come these wheels are turning But there is no change? How come these years are burning But no wiser we gain? All these things we ‘ought to be learning Are a source of shame Might as well turn to stone High diver There’s something ‘bout the color of our water Plane flyer Watch out for the heaviness of the air Filthy liars Gather ‘round we’ll find a place for you in town square Bus driver The next stop is many miles away from here How come these wheels are turning But there is no change? How come these years are burning But no wiser we gain? All these things we ‘ought to be learning Are a source of shame Might as well turn to stone Fast away the pages of this book Gone away sunshine has all been took Take away a map a chance to look At the way We’re living half the lives of what we should How come these wheels are turning But there is no change? How come these years are burning But no wiser we gain? All these things we ‘ought to be learning Are a source of shame Might as well turn to Might as well turn to Might as well turn to Stone

People go crazy for money So when I offered you an out you went insane At the first shot of so-called freedom You simply caved and leapt on that train Tainted waters Where do you draw the line? What do you consider fine? Now that you’ve got her You’ll use her at no end How many rules you gotta bend? What’s left when? What’s left when? Humanity itself Has been bought Has been bought Has been bought A thread in a sea of patterns Impossible to find, so secure As I search for some worth that’s not tangible It takes a heart that’s been riddled with stones Tainted waters Where do you draw the line? What do you consider fine? Now that you’ve got her You’ll use her at no end How many rules you gotta bend? What’s left when? What’s left when? Humanity itself Has been bought Has been bought Has been bought Has been bought Has been bought

Hands Up 04:52
Two months on and two months off There are no signs, that this will stop A sinking spell, no time to waste Always looking left, avoid mistakes This time, all on, the line The river cuts right through my soul Years of highs and deadly lows Sadly smiling, gentle blow Endless years and time to go I stay, my way, no way Daylight’s fading There’s no debating That I’ve spent too much time In this lie I’m in, I’m caught, hands up, let’s talk I walk around with bills to pay My middle name is washed away I got no children to carry me on As I play my part, new city, new con It’s on, I’m gone, too long Daylight’s fading There’s no debating That I’ve spent too much time In this lie I’m in, I’m caught, hands up, let’s talk My mother thinks I’m crazy All these happenings and maybe’s My father thinks I’ve gone too far But he doesn’t know half the things I’ve burned in tar In my name, forever, a guessing game Oh now I walk around with bills to pay My middle name is washed away Got no children to carry me on As I play my part, new city, new con It’s on, too long, I’m gone Daylight’s fading There’s no debating That I’ve spent too much time In this lie I’m in, I’m caught, hands up, let’s talk I’m in, I’m caught, hands up, let’s talk I’m in, I’m caught, hands up, let’s talk

Fool's Gold 04:10
I got something on my mind How come your years are wrapped in clover And all that’s come of mine Are dandelions All that’s come of mine Are yesterday’s fools gold All that’s come of my Back breaking Heart aching Day in and day out My daily bread All that’s come of mine Singin backlit broken window Can feel the weight in my bones Left my heart out on the stage Years of going against this grain With all that I’ve done is this All that’s come of mine My disheveled heart Was it hopeless at the start? The stars are never aligned All that’s come of mine My hit and miss My wanderless Got twice the goods Who paid for this? My bleeding hands Is all that’s come of mine Backlit broken window Can feel the weight in my bones Left my heart out on the stage Years of going against this grain With all that I’ve done is this All that’s come of mine All that’s come of mine Backlit broken window Can feel the weight in my bones Left my heart out on the stage Years of going against this grain With all that I’ve done is this All that’s come of mine

Ghost Chair 02:52
The perfect place to waste some time Is a pinball store with a bucket of dimes And afterwards you spend your heart Driving by something you couldn't be a part of But here you are wasting your time In that part of town just to get a glimpse of her life You’re looking through the window Wishing you were in there Trying hard to picture Something that isn’t there Would she remember You in your current state of affairs Married and has two great kids Is what you fabricated in your head She probably bikes to work and plays guitar You heard music when she left the door ajar You couldn’t say for sure but she’s doing fine Without a guy like you hanging ‘round all the time Looking through the window Wishing you were in there Trying hard to picture Something that isn’t there Would she remember You in your current state of affairs Would she remember Something that isn’t there Like a pillow Sitting on a ghost’s chair Would she recall A memory out of thin air Oh he remembers something that isn’t there You’re looking through the window Wishing you were in there Trying hard to picture Something that isn’t there Would she remember You in your current state of affairs He remembers something out of thin air

I ain’t got no one to lean on I ain’t got no silver steel I ain’t got no light to leave on No one can feel what I feel I prayed for rain To wash away all this pain For months on end I wrote letters Hoping that somebody would be better I guess what I found I guess what I found When people come around It’s the same old sounds I ain’t got no one to lean on I ain’t got no silver steel I ain’t got no light to leave on No one can feel what I feel Feel what I feel Feel what I feel Feel what I feel Feel what I I looked up to the lighthouse But it don’t shine for me on my way out If this life is a game How come everybody don’t start the same I guess what I’ve found I guess what I’ve found When people come around It’s the same old sounds I ain’t got no one to lean on I ain’t got to silver steel I ain’t got no light to leave on No one can feel what I feel Feel what I feel Feel what I feel Feel what I feel Feel what I feel Feel what I feel Feel what I feel I ain’t got no one to lean on I ain’t got to silver steel I ain’t got no light to leave on No one can feel what I feel Feel what I feel Feel what I feel No one can feel what I feel Feel what I feel Feel what I feel I ain’t got no light to leave on No one can feel what I Feel

Standing on this roof Looking over the town I grew up in And it looks a little bit lonely I don’t recognize these streets anymore But the feeling’s familiar But then again I don’t know it at all It seems as though nowadays Maybe I Maybe I am the stranger Stepping stones and Missing bones Tell me where the sun hasn’t shone There’s an aching in my chest And it’s the only thing I seem to have left and I Want my hope to stay strong So please don’t fail me now If I could be a bird I’d fly south before it gets cold It seems as though nowadays There’s a haze Across the surface of the standstill water Stepping stones and Missing bones Tell me where the sun hasn’t shone There’s an aching in my chest And it’s the only thing I seem to have left and I Want my hope to stay strong So please don’t fail me now The middle of the winter And singing I can’t find you in the cold How can I get to you? When it’s the sun that illuminates your soul But I can’t find no sunlight Anywhere at all Anywhere at all Stepping stones and Missing bones Tell me where the sun has not shone There’s an aching in my chest And it’s the only thing I seem to have left and I Want my hope to stay strong So please don’t fail me now Please don’t fail me now Hope don’t fail me

Lights On 03:10
The emptiness of coffee cups, refills are a dime Without him she can only see the pointlessness of time Refills are only a dime But she’d rather not wait in line The thought it doesn’t scare her just prepares her for the ride Remember what tomorrow gets to borrow gets to hide The end of her story ain’t the end of her life Won’t you keep the lights on inside Won’t you keep the lights on inside Papers piled up by the door, no one seems to mind The neighbors don’t come ‘round no more, barely worth the time Papers by the door She doesn’t want to read them anymore The thought it doesn’t scare her just prepares her for the ride Remember what tomorrow gets to borrow gets to hide The end of her story ain’t the end of her life Won’t you keep the lights on inside Won’t you keep the lights on inside The thought it doesn’t scare her just prepares her for the ride Remember what tomorrow gets to borrow gets to hide The end of her story ain’t the end of her life Won’t you keep the lights on inside Won’t you keep the lights on inside Won’t you keep the lights on inside

about

“Legend Keeper” is an energetic, bluesy-Americana collection made up of stories that are luminous in character, authentic in portrayal of corruption, and enduring in a society of outlaws. Shae’s goal as a songwriter is to become a ‘legend keeper’ herself, a teller of tales that live on through songs meant to be shared, sung along to, and lyrically celebrated.

The album kicks down the doors with soulful Americana-rock anthem “Resolution,” celebrating a gypsy-folk narrative of hitting the road without regrets. You can expect hearts to be strung up over the second song, “Storymaker,” revelling in the idea that as much as we want to write our own story as a ‘storymaker,’ sometimes life is out of our hands and we can only be storytellers. Listening to some of the songs there is almost an uncanny realization that Shae was able to foresee the future challenges of 2020. This is evident in “Lights On,” a song that encourages down-hearted souls to ‘keep the lights on inside,’ or remember to stay positive through dark times.

Not only does Shae bring stories to life in her music, she also aims to raise awareness about large-scale environmental issues such as climate change through songs “What’s Left When” and “Street Sweeper,” expressing passion and concern for the future state of our natural world. In fact, Shae won Sustain Music and Nature’s Backyard Songscape competition in May 2020 with her song “What’s Left When.”

Taylor Shae’s chameleon-esque vocals come through in moments of lyric vulnerability, fiery character during clever melodic phrases, and at the same time providing a full-bodied background chorus or sometimes a gospel back-porch harmony. A pair of acoustic guitars are a driving force in this album, yet each song has a right of its own.

Each of the 10 tracks have been released with a creative music video for a complete audio-visual experience. All of the videos can be found on Taylor Shae’s Youtube page: www.youtube.com/channel/UCC3d7CDCXZaPK8F2kz4oCvA.
